One thing we did to spread joy and appreciation through Light ‘em Up was to ask the cashier at Walmart what his favorite candy was and put it on the belt for him as we were checking out. We said simply that we appreciated him working through the holidays and that God loved him and to have a great day. He was a little blown away J
But it got me thinking, he felt joy and loved from a $1 gift that hardly cost me anything. Comparatively, what lavish love is displayed for us when Jesus died on the cross!! Yet, people don’t give it a second thought, even.
Jesus DIED for us, when we were still sinners/enemies/against him (Romans 5:8). What a grand act of love but one that is raw to so many hearts-maybe because they’ve heard it too many times or don’t stop and think on it any longer, etc… So, how would you answer, "What's the nicest thing someone's ever done for you??"
