Hi Sweetie Pie,
As I write this, you are peacefully asleep as it snows for the first time outside your window. I love it so much! First, it brings back great memories of last year’s first snow. That was the weekend we found out I was pregnant with you. I remember being so happy with Daddy about our wonderful little secret and spending most the weekend relaxing and watching the pretty snow fall. Tonight, we heard it on the window and I popped off the couch and literally jumped up and down, trying to get Daddy as excited as I was (didn’t work!). I wasn’t even sure if you would see your first snow this year or not as its been so warm (yesterday we had a picnic in the sunshine wearing shorts!). Maybe it’ll snow again this weekend when your cousin Matt and Aunt Lynn come and they can share the Floridian excitement over snow with us.
"What is it??"
I'm a cold-weather boy, this is fun!
In other firsts, you FINALLY slept through the night, really. You'd gotten good at sleeping at three months, then regressed badly at four months, got out of the routine of sleep on our FL trip, came back home and had a cold which made it hard for you to breathe/sleep, etc. But now, at six and a half months, you went from 6pm to 7am with no feeds, pick-ups, cries or soothing required. Of course I was so excited I could barely sleep, but I’ll relearn the art soon enough! Aunt Lynn had just told me the other day we should sign you up for a sleep study already. She and cousing Matthew pray for you to sleep well every night...perhaps God was trying to teach them persistance in prayer:0

Some other sweet things you’ve been doing include starting to hold yourself up on all fours for a few seconds before plopping on your belly; showing joy from figuring out how to make noise on a toy you’d been playing with for a few weeks, smiling and becoming transfixed whenever you see a cell phone, and touching the back of your head with those sweet little fingers like you’re making sure your hair is still there. Going to get a lot more video of these little moments when Aunt Lynn comes this week.
Love,
Mommy
