Swinging Into Six Months

Baby,
I cannot believe you are closer to a year now than you are to your birth!  You are such a treasure and so much fun to be around.  Yesterday we went to the doctor’s office.  It was during your normal nap time and you had to get three shots, but you were very tolerant throughout the visit and only cried for the ten seconds you got the shots.  Your doctor even asked if you were always that happy as he examined you.  You are now 17 lbs. 6 oz., 75% for height and 50% for weight.  Your doctor said he wasn’t surprised about your height and not too concerned about your weight right now, to which I replied that I think your body structure is beginning to take after mine-long and lean.
Anyway, I made sure we rounded the day out with some fun and took you to the park to swing for the first time.  You loved it, of course!  Since you do much better with new experiences when we go slow and ease into them, I put you in the seat, held your hands and got down on your level as I rocked you back and forth and you giggled and kicked your legs in excitement.  What a sweet moment for us.  Daddy was feeling sick and resting, otherwise he would have gone with us.
Happy 6 months old, today!

Sitting at the top of the slide is fun enough!

Such a strong sitter

Loved knocking those blocks over:)

And chewing on them, of course (no teeth, yet).

Other firsts for you recently include you having had your first cold/runny nose (I think I gave mine to you…should have kissed you less when I was sick:0 ), going down slides at a playground, starting to sleep through the night again (7:00pm-5:00am!), having predictable nap and bedtimes again, leaning forward from a sitting position to a hands and knees crawl stance, and trying new baby food about every three days (so far I’ve made oatmeal and bananas-your fav., sweet potato, peas and carrots-squash, zucchini, apples and pears are next!).
"Let's get down to business."

Such a sweet look of concentration

Mmmm, sweet potatoes.

Such a big boy!

Love,
Mommy
