Baby Dedication

Precious Child of God,

Let the little children come unto me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.  Matthew 19:14
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.
John 1:12

This past weekend we celebrated your life and dedicated you to the Lord.  You are His anyway, created by Him and for Him, just entrusted to us. We chose not to baptize you as an infant because it is our hope that you would grow to accept Jesus' love and forgiveness found in the cross and make it your public profession through baptism, as seen in the Bible.  We pray that you will know the gospel-that Jesus lived the life we could not live (the perfect life) and died the death we deserved (for our sin).  Because while we are more sinful than we can imagine, we are also more loved than we can ever imagin.  He (God) made Him (Jesus) who knew no sin, to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21.  We pray not only that you would have eternal life in heaven, but that you would spend your days on earth knowing, loving and serving God.  This is our number one hope for you and the thing we will be most proud of you for above all else (knowledge, talents, athletics, success, etc.).

Your Aunt Lynn is one of the most loyal people I know and will do anything for me; she is already proving the same for you as she and your cousin, Matt, came up just for the weekend.  She braved the plane with a crawling baby all herself and stayed just about 40 hours just to be here while we prayed (both of us choking up) for you to grow to know and love and serve Jesus.

We made the most of our time doing the following:
Having your first slumber party!

Cold and windy but you guys were troopers!!!

Playing 18 holes of Frisbee golf

The competition is always really between Lynn and Daddy, I'm just along for fun;)

Had to carry you guys up and over the rocky hills, but it was worth it.

You and Matt patiently watch/wait

We then introduced Lynn to Cookout for lunch and then raced home.  You boys took naps and we barely got in showers before we needed to leave to go to church.

Chris and Heather Elmore and (most of) their kids.  Luckily, they beat us there and saved us seats:0  They prayed over you and us and blessed you with a book to remember the day, God's Dream.

Family pic!

Thanks for coming up, Lynn and Matt!

Matthew's Uncle George and Kelly came over to play board games that night.  You became a night owl, wanting to stay up and join in all the fun!

Cousins!

Love,
Mommy
